In their own words
We are accepting applications now and will award $100,000+ in grants between now and December. This month, we would rather let the people our nonprofit exists for do the talking.
Hey there friends, Nate and team from the foundation here. We are inviting you to nominate someone for a grant from us. We are accepting applications now, and we will award $100,000+ between now and December.
The people who might most benefit from our work and our grants are often the hardest to reach, or the last to seek it out. Leaders too often do not nominate themselves. The same is the case for people the justice system has worn down.
So here is the whole ask, and it costs nothing:
- Think of one person.
- Send them this.
- Tell them you thought of them.
- Encourage them to apply.

“The gift I had longed for” - A letter from a rabbi in their 70s
A rabbi in their 70s wrote to us on August 2, 2026, after joining a cohort of seven rabbis from around the country through the Community Leaders Resilience Fund. Read the full letter. Here are a few sentences from it.
I am writing to thank you for making possible the extraordinary experience that I, along with six other rabbis from around the country, had because of the support of the Sheri Eckert Foundation.
My experience on the magic mushrooms was mind boggling and heart opening.
And I felt a joy I hadn’t felt for a long time because of the crushing sense of despair about the world and my inability to manage all the pain my congregants were sharing with me and expected me to make everything better. I feel as though the journey enabled me to know that I can hold both joy and pain, celebration and loss, and even learn something from the gifts each present to me.

03 The two funds
Two funds are open right now
The Community Leaders Resilience Fund offers fully covered psilocybin retreats in Oregon for nonprofit, climate, faith, and public-service leaders. Each accepted leader receives a grant, an award rather than a cost, covering licensed facilitation with preparation and integration, lodging, and meals.
The Inward Dive Fund offers legal, supported care for people previously incarcerated and for people who are justice impacted, including families, advocates, parole officers, returned citizens, and more. Grants are sized to need and paid directly to licensed providers, never a bill to you.

Nominate someone
We will award $100,000+ in grants between now and December, and the people who most need to hear that are usually the last to seek it out. Think of one person. Send them this. Tell them you thought of them. Encourage them to apply.
